I dont know if youd hear the sound of valves hitting pistons but it died very quietly. If you are using a genuine Toyota timing belt it will also have marks that line up with the camshaft and crankshaft notches. Tundras equipped with chains were manufactured from 2005 to the present with a V6 engine 2007 to 2014 models with a 57 V8 and those made in 2010 to 2014 with a 46 V8.

OK I am new to this site but nobody said anything about the 47 engine that is in a 2000 Tundra TRD mine is a 47 and the timing belt was replaced by the dealer at 81700 I have 140000 miles on her now with no problems. I had a subaru break a timing belt while driving which destroyed a all the valves on one side but just put some dings in the piston. This truck was owned by a Toyota.
