I have a full charge on the battery and have cleaned the corroded terminals hoping this was the problem. The battery is fine it has no trouble starting or holding a charge. The battery stores enough voltage to be able to start the engine without the assistance of an alternator.

IIRC there are 2 fuses for the alternator will check my diagram later. Take the 12-14mm nut off the positive post and clean in between ALL the stacked leads on there. Start truck use jumper cables or use scrap wire to connect alternator directly from alternator positive out to battery positive.
