2001 toyota tundra won't start due to theft device. Anti theft device will not allow me to crank my toyota tundra. I have a 95 Rav4 and my wife managed to leave the interior light on overnight and killed the battery - engine turned over slowly followed by that clicking noise. That clicking sound that you hear is the starter motor solenoid energizing.
Put the key in the ignition and turn forward to start if it wont start turn forward anyway then push youre red reset button on the dash. Have put a tester on it but wont connect to link and give any reading at all. Something is discharging the battery overnight.
Insert keyinto ignition Do not turn and pull it out. When inserted into the ignition the alarm system looks for codes from the key. If the anti-theft system has locked up your engine you wont be able to start it.
Ive dumped music on it and the stereo just wont seem to detect it. The engine immobilizer is a security device. The way you do this is first to look at the dash to see if the anti-theft light is on.
If it clicks that means that the starter motor is getting voltage. The next thing that I would do is to plug up a spark plug tester 5 at autozone up to the plugs and make sure that they are getting voltage. Try another key if you have one.
2001 toyota tundra cranks but wont start has no fire Truck will crank but wont start. My 2000 tundrasr5 47l 4x4 wont start. The key is read by the computer and if it matches it will enable all systems to start the car.
