2005 Toyota Tundra Rear Axle Seal Replacement

This is a known issue with Toyota trucks and suvs using a similar rear axle design.

Not trying to thread jack but I have the same problem. The axles are then refilled. The seal is removed and replaced with a new seal and a new differential gasket. 2000 Tundra AC SR5 47 V8 4WD 32000ish miles.

I noticed that the left rear was leaking onto the wheel and brake drum and upon further inspection today by the shop there was gear oil getting inside the drum. Next clean up the axle flange surface and replace the O-ring or use gasket-maker instead. Rear pinion seal leaked.
